报告人简介：陆隽教授，现任新西兰奥克兰大学奥克兰生物工程研究院的正教授。本科毕业于华东师范大学，取得环境科学学士学位，并于新西兰奥克兰大学获得海洋生物硕士和病理药理博士。他曾任奥克兰理工大学正教授及学科间研究学院科研副院长，现在是奥克兰大学生物工程研究院正教授。其领导的科研团队多年来聚焦功能食品，天然化合物在生物医药中的应用，糖尿病风险预测，糖尿病心脏与肾脏并发症的治疗，以及癌症辅助疗法。共计发表了160多篇期刊文章，其中许多发表在顶级期刊上，如Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, Food Chemistry, Carbohydrate Polymers,等。此外还任杂志Biomedicines药物发现部分的主编，Biomolecules (5.8)的编辑委员会成员，Heliyon(4.0)，Frontiers in Nutrition (5.0)和Frontiers in Pharmacology (5.8)的副主编。

报告摘要：Life starts from the ocean. Ocean products have great benefit to our health. My research focuses on marine products, two major examples are green lip mussel and seaweed Undaria pinnatifida. I will introduce health benefits of those two products in various disease conditions and their possible mechanism of action, including antioxidant, immune modulation and tumour receptor inhibition. The uniqueness of New Zealand fucoidan, a polysaccharide extracted from seaweed, will also be discussed.
